The Celebration of Worship

Our church right now is going through the book of Numbers. On January 6 of this year our pastor spoke His sermon on The Celebration of Worship. It was so good I thought I'd share the outline as well as my notes with you. Enjoy!

The Celebration of Worship

Celebration and joy are a normal part of worship.
Always give thanks to God Ephesians 5:18-20

1. The Priority of Worship (28:1-2)
• The word priority actually means , command, if you’re a true Christian, worship is not an option.
• True worship is God centered, its not about making us feel good.
• When men worship, God is satisfied.
• “He came to make worshipers out of rebels.” Ray Ortland

2. The Pattern for Worship (28:3-15)
• God requires consistency.
• The Israelites worshiped in the mourning, as well as in the evening, though meditation should be all day.
• Sundays are a precious gift of time to offer to the Lord.

3. Practical Lessons from God’s Pattern for Worship -
• God is worthy of our best. (As I was thinking about this in church, I realized that it was because of this reason that we need to dress in our “Sunday” best for church. It is in fact because the Bible commands us to give our best to God. Dressing up for church I believe is apart of this.)
• Worship is the joyful acknowledgment of God’s worth.
• Communion with God is not cheap.
• Present your bodies holy and acceptable to Me for it is your reasonable service.
• Don’t try to scoot under the wire with little to no worship of God.
• Worship is not apart of the Christian life, it IS the Christian life.

Also, here is a picture of my darling father!

I know should be able to recognize any one of your family members if I happen to meet them walking down the street :)
